The Weekend

Wii truly is an item. A true center piece for a party.

Instead of hunched over controllers, staring at the screen, the players are physically involved. The gamers are are more open, the atmosphere much more relaxed. It is a party item, meant for its multiplayer.

I brought my Wii to my grandparent's house over the weekend. They live in Illinois. It was a big deal. I merely brought it to show my grandparents the technology and how cool it is. (I later find out my uncle already did this) What I did not figure was how much it would be used. My Grandfather really got into Wii Bowling. My Cousins (All 4) Were deep into Wii Tennis. My Aunt beat (really destroyed) my brother in a game of baseball. It was awesome. Nothing like having controllers. It was a centerpiece of the conversation. The focal point in the room, yet not demanding of attention.

I hope to see much more of these types of ideas, of these games to use as a centerpiece, without isolation. As they say, the more the merrier!
